Regulations for bringing a dog into Colombia from the US?

The hardest part will be to get an airline to take your dog. I wanted to bring my cat to Colombia but I called Continental, Delta and American and was told: no go on the transport. I did not call Avianca or Copa. (I dont know any other airlines that go direct (or semi direct) from the US to Colombia. There is a quarantine and there is some paperwork you have to show from your vet. My suggestion (I know youll hate it) Leave your dog with friends and get another one in Colombia. Ive been told its even harder to get your animal back to the US.
