Don't dye them yourself! That's a disaster waiting to happen. If I were you, I'd go to a professional right away; it's really not that expensive; and unlike DYI jobs, it'll have a long-lasting result. If you don't need them right away; I would recommend going to a dyer; sometimes tailors take care of shoe products too. It shouldn't take more than a week for you to pick your finished product up.
